TOKYO AREA AIRPORT ACCESS
The Tokyo Metropolitan area has two major airports. Each airport has its own transportation options that will get you into Central Tokyo.1. Narita International Airport (NRT) is the main international airport servicing the Tokyo Metropolitan area. If you are coming into Japan from an International Flight, you are most likely going to be flying into Narita Airport.
Additionally,
- Connecting to the Shinkansen ("bullet train") from Narita Airport
- Getting to Tokyo Disney from Narita Airport
2. Haneda Airport (HND) is Tokyo's primary domestic airport. If you are flying in from another part of Japan, you are most likely going to be using Haneda Airport.
Haneda also handles some special international charter flights from Korea and China. However, the vast majority of international flights are handled at Narita Airport. Note that Haneda Airport's official name is TOKYO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
